The Art of Learning

PARENTS MODEL THE RESPECT THAT THEIR CHILDREN WILL REPEAT...
This month brings about the end of summer and beginning of a new school year. Teachers in all vocations have a starring role in the success in our children's education. However, what the students will achieve from those efforts, will come from their choices, in everything from work ethic, to behavior and most important, parental support.

Wen looking up the definition of the word TEACHER in the dictionary, I was surprised to read its underwhelming description. HOWEVER...if you look at all the words that are associated with it, the embodiment of what a teacher represents, is evident.

guide.
mentor.
advisor.
coach.
assistant.
educator.
disciplinarian.
TEACHER
Monitoring homework, chauffeuring back and forth to practices, and exams don't excite me any more than my children. But the reality is, their education is a gift and the people willing to contribute to it, deserve our best.
Teachers can influence our children in an immense way. For me, it's important to be involved as much as I can in my children's education. Establishing a healthy partnership early on can sometimes make the difference in how the year will play out.
Respect from both teacher and student always results in a great school run, but it's the support from parents that can make it a win!

A teacher doesn't always have to be the one taking attendance everyday.
Encourage your children to appreciate everyone in the day to day operations at their school. Mentors don't have to be the people grading their papers. They can make a difference where you would least expect it. Navigating through another school year doesn't have to be a messy experience, instead, let's be grateful for the education that is available, even if it's not perfect.
SUPPORT+COMMUNICATION+RESPECT=AN EDUCATIONAL MASTERPIECE
And Finally...if the school year has some bumps along the way, keep calm & eat more chocolate!
