HIIT me with your best Shot

3 ways HIIT workouts have helped my over 40 body.

When my metabolism began to slow down more than ever after I turned 40, I decided to up my workout game. Exercising has always been a natural part of my life, however, I was doing it all wrong. Cardio was always my one and only, in terms of burning calories and getting back into shape when needed, but it wasn't working like it did in my 20's or even 30's. I began to add on abs and arms yet still not connecting together a complete workout using all 3. Finally, after a series of overused muscles, injuries, and stagnate weight, I took a shot at HIIT class in our local YMCA. Needless to say, it was a win!

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.[https://dailyburn.com]

HIIT workouts have benefited me in more ways than I expected and once I learned what the process and technique were all about, working out smarter just made more sense.

3 ways HIIT workouts has helped this now almost 50 body:

They made me STRONGER

The lifting weights components were awkward for me in the beginning. Upper body strength was never my forte', probably because I never used my arms other than to carry kids or groceries! The strength that I have gained from my HIIT workouts has helped my posture, core and in turn, reduced my back pain and strains.
