Fall Resolutions

I'm not sure about you, but even though I don't get excited about all the back to school agendas, I do love the season of fall and other things that it brings. Changing of the leaves, pumpkin EVERYTHING, and also a new calendar with revised goals in all areas of my life; basically my fall resolutions. I can't make it an entire year without incorporating change to my everyday, to make things work effectively for myself. I'm not as good as most of you...what can I say!? I'm a routine kind of person, I can't help it. And although I love the freedom of summer, I'm more productive and consistent with a schedule. (my kids would agree, but still be unhappy about it!)

Now that my families schedule is tighter, my flexibility in things like working out are too! And even though I would love for running to and from my children's activities and events to count as my fitness for the week, it doesn't! (that really is a rip off though, I'm just saying!) It occurred to me the other day while revamping my fitness schedule and goals with my cohorts Alice and Deb, how important it is for me to be intentional about it, so I actually get it done. And while the three of us have different schedules, we were still not letting ourselves off the hook on how and when we were going to accomplish it.

Y...??? BECAUSE I SAID SO...

For me, I workout better away from home, so the YMCA is always a perfect fit. If I'm home I'll keep saying I'll do something, but most times what I do is serve everyone else's needs instead of my own. (laundry, picking up, toilets, floors, more laundry, you get the idea!) I also do better with a workout buddy. And even though it is a rare occasion that all my friends and I workout at the same time, incorporating each other on days that we can, helps me stay on track and accountable.

HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO JUST TAKE A NAP ON THE MATS AND FITNESS BALLS AT THE GYM? I HAVE...(and I know a few others that do too!)

THEY'RE COMFORTABLE!

DON'T JUDGE US.

Regrouping in the fall helps me to hit the restart button with my personal goals. And with cool nights and comfort foods knocking on my door, I need to be intentional about my workouts so when I am enjoying my pumpkin treats, I don't inevitably turn into one!

HAPPY FALL!!!
